System FormatException in System DLL: What It Means and How to Avoid It

Every time I hit the calculate button I receive the following message: An unhandled exception of type 'System.FormatException' occurred in mscorlib.dllAdditional information: Input string was not in a correct format.

system formatexception occurred in system dll

Use the GetBaseException method when you want to find the root cause of an exception but do not need information about exceptions that may have occurred between the current exception and the first exception.

Another day, another ASP.NET Core error... This time relating to JSON not being parsable. Like the error I posted yesterday, this was another strange one as it only occurred within an Azure environment.

I'm getting a bit desperated.Recently, there has been an issue with Smart Object List methods over and over again. Affected are only smart objects that have a decimal field and only the list methods. After restarting the K2 service, the error is gone. After some time, however, the error occurs again. I can not detect any errors in the logs and can not recognize the cause. Has this error ever occurred to someone? We are using version 4.7 with the latest fix pack.

You receive a System.FormatException with the following error and stack trace."Input string was not in a correct format."A first chance exception of type 'System.FormatException' occurred in mscorlib.dllat System.Number.StringToNumber(String str, NumberStyles options, NumberBuffer& number, NumberFormatInfo info, Boolean parseDecimal)at System.Number.ParseInt32(String s, NumberStyles style, NumberFormatInfo info)at System.Int16.Parse(String s, NumberStyles style, NumberFormatInfo info)at System.Convert.ToInt16(String value)at TypeConversionTest.Form1.cmdConvert_Click(Object sender, EventArgs e) in C:\Source\TypeConversionTest\TypeConversionTest\Form1.vb:line 7

Thank you guys for answers:) I have now trimmed my value in c#, "18.52\r" becomes "18.52". But I am still struggling... I am able to show the value as a text label, but can't convert it to an int for the progress bar, due to some format trouble. When converting I get the error: "FormatExeption unhandled: An unhandled exception of type 'System.FormatException' occurred in mscorlib.dll" - "Additional information: input string had an invalid format."
